INTRODUCTION
It isn’t a mystery how to fix what is ailing our culture. If you want to change a child’s life, ensure they have access to a father who will engage with them. The health of our communities, our state, even our nation rides on the shoulders of engaged fathers.

THREE TRAITS OF EXCEPTIONAL FATHERS
Father’s are at their best when they point and lead their children to Jesus Christ. The aim of every father is to have their children “walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls them into his own kingdom and glory.”
For you know how, like a father with his children, we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory. - 1 Thess 2:11-12
TRAIT #1: Exceptional father’s EXHORT their children
Father’s call their children to their side and invite them to a life that is more than what can be imagined. These kind of father’s don’t just point the way, they walk the way with their children showing them how to live in a manner that is pleasing to God.
TRAIT #2: Exceptional father’s ENCOURAGE their children
Father’s call their children to gain the appropriate perspective and emotionally regulate how they are feeling. To be enslaved by your emotions is to be in bondage. Your relational and spiritual maturity will only rise to the level of your emotional maturity.
TRAIT #3: Exceptional father’s CHARGE their children
To “charge” is to “urge towards matters of great importance.” Exceptional father’s help their children set priorities, work towards those priorities, and navigate the obstacles that come in the way of those priorities. The greatest priority being a life in pursuit of God.
